A pair of tiny wax seal greyhound earrings made using an antique Victorian era antique wax seal from the mid 1800's. The Greyhound is said to denote majesty, courage, vigilance, swiftness and loyalty, and were also emblematic of nobility. Greyhounds are one of the oldest breeds of dogs, and appear in art and literature throughout history.
These petite wax seals are made of Sterling Silver and measure over 1/4" in diameter, they are lightweight and small, made to sit majestically on the earlobe on sterling silver posts and are dainty, delicate and beautiful for an understated look. They have been oxidized, buffed and polished to bring out the contrast.
