About Shannon

Shannon Westmeyer Designs began in 2003 when I accidently stumbled across a beautiful set of handmade glass lampwork beads. Intrigued, I signed up for a weekend crash course and jumped in feet first. Since that first class over 8 years ago I've had the opportunity to study under amazing artists and develop my own style along the way. I've also had the opportunity to teach and have been inspired by my customers and other artists, the wonderful women that have supported me on this journey. Thanks to you I've been able to realize my dream of staying at home with my two beautiful children while I pursue my love of glass and silver.
My inspiration comes from everything around me... fashion, art, nature and life experiences. Whether it’s a beautiful piece of pottery, a trendy new outfit, or a picture, I’m always thinking how it can be captured in a bead or designed into a thoughtful piece of jewelry. My love of antiques and vintage jewelry, along with my early fascination in Grandma's jewelry box helped to inspire the Wax Seal Jewelry Collection. It was my daughter Hallie, age 4 at the time, that brought this collection to life with her Playdough...true story!
I design all of my beads and jewelry with you in mind, each piece is a part of me so to say, made by hands and created with great attention to detail. The lampwork glass beads are made to be comfortable and convey a feeling, a mood, or a style. I like things that have texture and often transfer that style to my bead and jewelry pieces. The Wax Seal Jewelry Collection is my way of taking something old and giving it new life in a meaningful piece of jewelry. We use upcycled vintage baubles and repurposed vintage jewelry collected from around the world, each with it's own story that lend charm and meaning to every piece. Be sure to read the notes on each item for their unique history.
